KOOLER SPONSORED TEDxYOUTH @ DLSU Manila 2020
February 27, 2020
Last Feb 28, 2020, Kooler Industries partnered with the De La Salle University (DLSU) SHS students in hosting the first ever TEDx event in the Philippines. For those that do not know–
“TED Conferences LLC is an American media organization that posts talks online for free distribution under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. TED was conceived by Richard Saul Wurman in February 1984 as a conference; it has been held annually since 1990.” – Wikipedia
“TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.” – tedxyouthdlsushs.wixsite.com
The event featured speakers such as Gab Mejia–a conservation and adventure photographer, and a National Geographic Explorer–who covers stories on nature, climate crisis, and indigenous people. Also digital artist Issa Barte–who has garnered her following on social media platforms and is the founder of Fund The Forest – a non-profit project devoted to restoring the Yangil forest in Zambales (a province north of Manila).
Other speakers such as Ichiro Arbole–a notable debater who finished 4th in the Asian Schools Debating Championship; Martin Riggs–a recording artist at O/C records and film scorer at BRAINCOAT, both contributed in creating deep discussion on ideas worth sharing.
At Kooler collaboration and innovation are core principles we live by. Events such as TEDx are great examples of these principles which are channeled through breakthrough perspectives, and missions of youthful, influential speakers.
